SAWYER COUNTY (DrydenWire) – A routine traffic stop on April 23, 2025, led Sawyer County authorities to uncover a significant drug and weapons case involving 43-year-old Nathan Rickards of Hayward.
During the traffic stop, law enforcement located methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and packaging materials. The investigation later expanded to a search of Rickards' residence, where authorities discovered additional drugs, multiple firearms, and a cache of valuable items.
Rickards, who is also being prosecuted in Barron and Rusk Counties for separate drug-related offenses, now faces multiple felony charges in Sawyer County.
