William “Bill” Martin Madison, age 65, of Rice Lake, WI died Sunday, February 5, 2023 at MCHS – Luther Campus in Eau Claire, WI.

He was born Saturday, January 18, 1958 to Roy and Wilma (Norman) Madison in Cumberland, WI.

Born in Cumberland the family located near Silver Lake and the farm. He graduated from Rice Lake High School and went on to LaCrosse, WI for Vocational School training. Bill worked for Sperry Unisys which took him to Korea where he lived for several years. He then moved to South Dakota and owned a bar and then moved back to Rice Lake and worked at the Turtle Lake Casino. Bill then worked on the family farm. Bill was married to Carrie on April 24, 2004. Bill and Carrie purchased her family’s farm near Brill, WI. Later he worked for Norswiss and American Excelsior. He also was a member of the Bear Lake – Haugen Fire Department, until his health made him retire. Bill’s religion was his life and was involved in his church, men’s club, choir and home visits.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie Madison; 2 sons, Jeff (Pam) Madison and Jason Madison; granddaughters, Kyla, Rayne and Paige; 2 brothers, Ronald (Elaine) Madison and Michael (Heather) Madison; a sister, Connie (Brian) Thompson; 2 nephews and 3 nieces.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Stanfold Lutheran Church, Rice Lake, WI, Rev. John Bergson officiating, burial will follow at a later date in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM Friday and 10 to 11 AM Saturday at Stanfold Lutheran Church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Appleyard’s Home for Funerals, 19 W. Messenger St., Rice Lake, WI.
