In Memory of William J. Burrows


May 12, 1928 - March 24, 2024

William “Jack” Jackson Burrows Age 95, of Birchwood, WI and Jacksonville, Florida, died Sunday, March 24, 2024 at his home in Birchwood.

He was born on May 12, 1928 in Plumberville, Arkansas to Alan and Hazel (Rhodes) Burrows.

Jack graduated from Capital High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He entered the United States Marines and was Honorably Discharged and then later entered the United States Air Force and was Honorably Discharged as a Master Sergeant. Jack was the quarterback for Tulsa University football team, then started dating his college sweetheart his freshman year and soon after he was married to Margery “Mari” Gunderson on January 25, 1949 in Tulsa. Jack worked for IBM for many years in sales and was the marketing director. He loved golfing, in which he won many tournaments and enjoyed hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Margery “Mari” Burrows; 3 children, Kathy Griffin, Karen (Jim) Kingry and Karla (Jack) Brock; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a sister, Ann (Bill) Edwards; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Krissy Hamilton; his parents, Alan and Hazel Burrows; a brother, John Burrows.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting and serving the family with the arrangements.
