Wayne Staples, age 91, a resident of Danbury, WI., passed away at home on December 15, 2023. Wayne was born on March 4, 1932 to parents William and Katherine (Cloud) Staples in Swiss Township, WI.

Throughout Wayne’s life he worked as a heavy equipment operator as a truck driver for Lawrence-Johnson in Danbury, WI and Earth Movers in Duluth, MN. He worked construction for the St. Croix Tribal Center and Hopkins before coming self-employed.

Wayne loved to work and keep himself busy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and in his younger years he loved playing baseball.

Wayne is preceded in death by his loving wife, Renee; parents; sisters, Ruth, Josephine, Ann and brother, Joe.

He is survived by his children, Scotty Staples, Jerry (Cheryl) Staples and Dawn (Larry Steltz) Staples; grandchildren, Amanda, Alan, Brad, Jamie, Darrell and Teddy; great grandchildren, Lanie, Lucas, Dawson, Shaylea, Dylan and Jayce; great-great grandson, Lincoln; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Wayne will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM (visitation from 10-11 am) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster. Honorary pallbearers are Amanda, Alan, Brad, Jamie, Darrell and Teddy. A luncheon will follow the service at the Danbury Town Hall.

Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster.
