In Memory of Vivian S. Pederson


February 12, 1935 - September 2, 2023

Vivian Shirley Pederson, age 88, of Hayward, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 2, 2023, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN, surrounded by her loving family.

Vivian was born February 12, 1935, at home in Hayward, the daughter of Basil Sr. and Bernice (Green) Holcomb.

She attended and graduated Hayward Free High School in 1954. Vivian worked at the root beer stand in Hayward during high school which is where she met the love of her life. After graduation, Vivian moved to Madison and worked at a boat factory for a few months, before moving back to Hayward. On May 21, 1955, she married Theodore “Ted” Pederson at the First Lutheran Church in Hayward. They moved to the farm where they spent the rest of their lives farming. Vivian loved her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, working on the farm, taking care of the animals, gardening, driving tractors, sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, canning, cooking, baking, all things to do with farm life, and she was an avid archer. After working a full day, she still managed to have three square meals, with coffee breaks in between. Vivian was an amazing woman, devoted wife, wonderful caring mother, loving grandmother and great grandmother. She will be forever loved and never forgotten.

She is survived by her loving children Diane (Jon) Rezarch of Spooner, Dale Pederson of Hayward and Debra (Howard) Henk of Stone Lake; six grandchildren Eric (Billie) Rezarch of Spooner, twins Kevin and Jacob Henk of Birchwood, Gregory Henk of Loyal and Gale Henk of Stone Lake; two great grandchildren Theodore “Teddy” and Audrey Rezarch of Spooner; brother Basil Jr. “Buzz” (Judy) Holcomb of Hayward; many nieces and nephews.

Vivian was preceded in death by her loving husband Ted of 62½ years; parents Basil Sr. & Bernice; and sisters Merl Overman, Neva Cline & Connie Ringelstetter.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward. Rev. Gary Hilgendorf will officiate with music provided by Arnold & Debra Nelson and Steve Hand. Burial will be in Spider Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 11th at the funeral home and again from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 12th prior to the service at the funeral home.

Honorary casket bearers will be Theodore “Teddy” and Audrey Rezarch.

Casket bearers will be Gale Henk, Gregory Henk, Jacob Henk, Kevin Henk, Eric Rezarch and Billie Rezarch.
