In Memory of Virginia B. Bergstrom


November 20, 1934 - November 10, 2023

Virginia B. Bergstrom, age 88, went to her heavenly home on November 10, 2023, at the United Pioneer Home in Luck, WI.

Virginia was born Nov 20, 1934, to Eleanor (Gustafson) Annett and Leslie Annett. At the age of 4 years old her mother passed away and she lived with her grandparents Roy and Bessie Annett until her father remarried to Dorothy Bennett.

She was a 1952 graduate of Frederic High School, and Polk County Teachers College in 1954. She taught at Volga and Wonderous schools in Amery, WI.

She met Lester Bergstrom roller skating at the Rush City Rink with the assistance of Lester’s sister Mabel. In 1956 she married Lester Bergstrom, and they bought a farm in Frederic. To this union 4 daughters were born. Debra, Rebecca, Sharon and Mary Lynn.

For 25 years she was employed at the United Pioneer Home Activity Department, which she truly enjoyed. She was a faithful member of the Trade Lake Baptist Church, serving grades 3-4 as a Sunday School teacher and served on many other committees. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, scrapbooking, and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lester, and daughters Rebecca and Mary Lynn. She is survived by daughters Debra Bergstrom, and Sharon (Chuck) Miller, five grandchildren Andy, Derek, Kristi, Michelle, Nathan, and 3 great grandchildren, Braxton, Paisley, Kinsley, two brothers Larry (Linda) Annett and Paul (Debra) Annett, and one sister Margaret (Art) Engstrom along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Rowe Funeral Home in Frederic, WI on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 with visitation at 10:00 AM and funeral at 11:00 AM. Virginia will be laid to rest next to her husband and daughter Rebecca at the Union Cemetery in Luck, WI.
