In Memory of Virginia A. Larson
Virginia (Gini) Ann Larson was born on March 15, 1939 in Osceola, Wisconsin. She was raised in Grand Marais, Minnesota, where she developed her love for the outdoors. She became an avid hunter with grouse being her favorite quarry. The oldest of 4 siblings, she helped her mother run the Moe Del Motel approximately 10 miles north of town.
Gini graduated from Cook County High School in 1956 and made her way to the Twin Cities, where she met and married Bill Reynolds in 1960. They moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin, where their only son, Kelly was born in 1965. When Bill passed away suddenly only three months later, Gini moved to the Lindstrom area to be near family.
In 1967 she married Gene Larson and led an active life where she golfed, rode horses, hunted and camped. Gini loved camping and eventually they traveled extensively with a large group of couples, calling themselves the Minnesota Looney’s.
Gini was an avid Vikings fan and had season tickets for many years. Later in life, Sundays in the fall and early winter found her pacing the floors and cheering for a big win.
After Gene’s passing in 2005, living in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin she purchased a new truck and 5th wheel camper. Up until the age of 78, she and her dog would drive the camper to spend the winter in Gold Canyon Arizona.
Gini is survived by her son Kelly, daughter in law Linda, grandsons Josh and Blake Frenning, and many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to her niece, Lyanne and her husband Eddie Peterson for providing a space in their home for Gini to receive hospice care at the end of her life.
