
In Memory of Virgina V. Novak
Virgina Viola Novak, age 96, of Spooner, WI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Dove Health Care- Spooner. Virgina was born on July 31, 1928, in Cornell, WI to Inga and Frank Wajek. Virgina had six siblings; Bernard, Ray, Estel, Irene, Ted, and Edwin Wajek . She enjoyed bowling when she was young, going on adventures with her girlfriends, ice-skating, and socializing of any kind. Virgina’s smile was one of the most beautiful things about her along with her strong-willed and loving personality. Virigina loved spending time with all of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and many friends who had become like family.
Virgina and her family lived outside of Cornell until she was married to Robert Novak in June 1947. Virgina and Robert had three children together; Sharon, Dennis, and Steven. Virgina enjoyed her role as a homemaker, raising her children, and decided to work outside of the home when the family moved to Racine, WI in 1953.
Virgina is survived by her son, Dennis (Beth) Novak of Spooner; son in law, Dave Ogren of Spooner; daughter in law Carol Novak of Spooner; granddaughter, Jena (Wayne) Sleeter of Turtle Lake; granddaughter Kim Grap (Mark Nutile) of Spooner; granddaughter Gina Krueger (Jeff Raffel) of Trego, grandson Michael Waite of Spooner; granddaughter Misti (Moe) Clinton of Cudahy, WI; grandson Jamie Novak (Brandi Hase) of Spooner; great granddaughter Kaila (Jordan) Weimer of Altoona; great granddaughter Morgan Krueger (Jordan Borelli) of Spooner; great grandson Austen Grap of Spooner; many great great grandchildren; cousin Clara of Michigan; dearest friends Leva and Rainy of Racine; Evey of Seattle, WA; Joan of Spooner; Nancy and John of Spooner; and many more beloved friends and family.
Virgina was preceded in death by her parents and mother/father-in-law; late husband, Robert Novak; significant other, Hank Baumgartner; beloved children Sharon Ogren, Steven Novak; grandchildren Michele and Christopher Novak; great grandsons Eric White, Blake Krueger; and many more loved family and friends.
A celebration of Life will be held later this summer to honor the love and legacy of Virigina. No formal visitation is scheduled at this time. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Alzheimer’s Association, if you wish.
