LaVerne (Vernie) Viola Olson, 95, formerly of Milltown, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at the United Pioneer home in Luck, Wisconsin.

LaVerne was born to Martin F. and Viola C. Daeffler on January 26, 1927 in Frederic, Wisconsin.

She was raised on a farm in Frederic. She attended grade and high school in Frederic and graduated in 1945. Upon completion of high school she worked for a time at Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing in the Twin Cities. On October 25, 1947 LaVerne married Reuben G. Olson of Bone Lake, Wisconsin and were blessed with 5 children: Judy, Carol< Nancy, Mary, and Marcia. LaVerne was a proud employee of the food service staff of the Unity School District for 30 years before retiring in 1992.

LaVerne loved cooking, she made the best homemade bread and cinnamon rolls you have ever tasted. She was a member of the Milltown Senior Center and Milltown Lutheran Church for 60 years. LaVerne loved to crochet, sew, and attend Circle at the church with her many friends. She was very active in the Jolly Milltown 4H club with her girls. She was so proud of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, and absolutely loved having them visit her whenever possible. She loved attending the sports activates of her grandchildren at the schools they attended.

LaVerne will be forever missed by her children, Judy (Lanie) Ross of Pine City, Minnesota; Carol (Brian) McBroom of Siren, Wisconsin; Mary (Ron) Marlette of Milltown, Wisconsin; Marcia Olson-McKenzie of Milltown, Wisconsin; and brother, Milton (Mary Lou) Daeffler of Frederic, Wisconsin. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Tammy Johnson; Mathew Kamish, Lisa McKenzie, Shawn Curtis, Mark Kamish, Scott Marlette, Sarah McKenzie, Jason McKenzie, Kristine Brennen, Mika Hayes, and Brynn McBroom; 21 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Viola Daeffler; sisters, Doris Berquist, Opal Nelson, Rita Smith; husband of 42 years, Reuben G. Olson; daughter, Nancy Kamish; and grandson Dominic Curtis.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Joy Lutheran Church (501 WI-35, Centuria, WI 54824) with visitation beginning on hour prior to service.
