In Memory of Tyrone R. Asp
Tyrone Russell Asp, age 82, of Amery, Wisconsin, passed away on April 16, 2024.
Tyrone was born to Herbert and Helen (Myhre) Asp on August 28, 1941 in Amery, WI. At 10 years old, Tyrone’s father passed away, and Tyrone then moved to Clear Lake at the age of 11. Tyrone’s mom and step-dad later moved to Dallas, WI, but Tyrone stayed back and worked and lived on a farm in Clear Lake in order to finish high school. Tyrone graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1960.
After graduating, Tyrone continued working on the farm while also working at a scrap yard in Clear Lake. He then went on to work at a lumber yard in Clear Lake making deliveries. In 1962, Tyrone married Barbara Trapp and they moved to Baldwin. Tyrone began working at the saw mill in Spring Valley and then moved on to running the flooring machine at Madson Lumbar and Flooring. He worked many jobs throughout his life, and his next venture was working at United Refrigerator in Hudson followed by driving truck for Spindler’s out of Baldwin. Next, Tyrone welded vending machines at Gross Given Manufacturing in Minneapolis, and he continued to work here for many years before retiring. However, after moving to Indian Creek, retirement didn’t last long and Tyrone began working at MPM Manufacturing where he made picture frames. Tyrone eventually completely retired from this position.
Tyrone lived his retirement in his little house in the middle of nowhere in Indian Creek. He loved it there. During his free time, Tyrone could be found tinkering with any vehicle or helping someone work on their car. He loved motorcycles, car races, dancing and his dogs—Sport and Molly. Tyrone will be remembered and missed for his kindness and willingness to help others.
Tyrone was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Helen; step-dad, Albert Sufka; siblings, Elizabeth Asp, Linda Potter, and Sharon Kohl; and son, Robert Asp. He is survived by his children, Leroy (Amber) Britten, Nannette (JD) Hanson, LuAnne Asp, Richard Asp, and Shannon (Michelle) Asp; nephews and niece, Ricky Randall, Wendell Hudson, Leonard Hudson, and Angel Hudson; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, Wisconsin, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Following the service, burial will take place at Amery Cemetery.
