In Memory of Twyla Mae Rieck


November 16, 1958 - August 2, 2024

Twyla (Duncan) Rieck, age 65, died on August 2, 2024 at St. Croix Medical Center, after a long battle and complications from Multiple Sclerosis.

Twyla is survived by her mother Eleanor Duncan of Frederic, WI, brother Kevin (Joanie) Duncan, nieces and nephew Maddie (Jared) Peltier, Joey Duncan, Ellie Duncan and great nephew Hudson Peltier, all of Grantsburg, WI. Twyla is preceded in death by her father Boyd Duncan.

Twyla was born on November 16,1958 at St.Croix Falls Hospital to parents Boyd and Eleanor Duncan. She graduated from Frederic High School in 1977 and worked at the Frederic Telephone Company during her high school years. After graduating, she went to legal secretary school in the Twin Cities. Twyla worked a number of years in Minneapolis at Sandos Nutrition which was later bought by Novartis. She then moved to Pennsylvania and worked at the Bloomsburg Hospital and Geisinger Medical Center. Twyla moved back to Frederic WI a few years back to be closer to family.

Twyla enjoyed sewing, quilting and dancing. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving and caring person who liked to kid and joke around.

She will truly be missed.

A funeral is scheduled for Twyla on Monday, August 12th, 2024 at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Frederic, WI. Visitation starting at 10:00am and funeral at 11:00am, with reception following in the church hall. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Twyla’s life. Honorary pallbearers are Maddie Peltier, Joey Duncan, Ellie Duncan, James Duncan, Charlene Stocker, and Sheryl Boyd.

The family would like to thank all of the caregivers that have helped take care of Twyla over the years, along with the staff at the St. Criox Medical Center and Frederic Nursing Home. Thanks also to everyone from St. Dominic Catholic Church and Fr. Thomas Sagili.
