In Memory of Trudy McClintock

March 7, 1950 - August 31, 2020

Trudy Jo McClintock was born on March 7, 1950 in Siren, Wisconsin to Gladys and Arnold Benson. She grew up a farm girl, spending hours picking rocks in the fields, gardening, and taking care of the livestock. When she wasn't helping on the farm, she loved to spend time reading, being outdoors, and spending time with her favorite person in the world, her Grandma Sally. Trudy was passionate about reading throughout her life. As a little girl, she would ride her bike two miles with her lifelong best friend, Bonnie, to go to the Frederic library. Trudy also enjoyed spending time with her siblings, Allen, Lyle, and Jane. They would spend hours building snow forts in ditches, exploring country culverts, and swimming. Trudy loved spending time with her Grandma Sally, who lived across the road from her. Together they would spend hours baking, sewing, and collecting eggs from the chickens. Growing up, Trudy also developed a love for the piano. She was the church organist for many years.

After having two children, Trudy decided to return to school to become a nurse. She spent twenty years working with the elderly in area nursing homes. She also started her own business, Trudy's Foot and Nail Care, where she traveled to area homes and completed foot and nail care for homebound elderly in Polk and Burnett counties. After retiring, Trudy took care of her grandchildren, which she always thought was the best choice she ever made. She loved her time taking care of Silas and Ellie and cherished their time snuggling, reading books, and the endless hours of playing with toys.
