In Memory of Tracey S. Ketterer
Tracey Ketterer, 49, formerly of Hampshire, IL; and Woodridge, IL; passed peacefully at Hayward Memorial Hospital with her family present.
She lived in Hampshire most of her life until she moved to Woodridge with her future husband, Gary. She was the daughter of the late Carole Gomoll. At the age of 7 years old, Tracey was adopted by the late Charles Gomoll. She attended school in Hampshire and Elgin Community College. She wanted to be a real estate agent and a police officer. She worked as an administrative administrator during her life.
In December 2005, Tracey would meet her future husband, Gary Ketterer. In 2007, she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. August 2010; Tracey and Gary were married by Pastor Mark Wilson from the Hayward Wesleyan Church at the Spider Lake Church. She kept working until 2014, when she was laid off and her Parkinson’s was getting worse. Later in her life, she had congestive heart failure, a feeding tube in order to live, 2 surgeries, COVID, and aspiration pneumonia which she passed away from.
She enjoyed coming to Hayward, Wisconsin and staying at her in laws resort, Kiefer’s Pine Grove on Little Round Lake. She loved seeing the guests and all the relatives that stay at the resort. Her last wish was to come to Hayward and see her lake. Her husband, Gary, made that wish happen for her.
She was an avid reader, playing games on her cell phone, watching TV especially the Hallmark Channel. She loved the lake, listening to the loons, the roar of the boats that went pat the resort, watching the eagles that soar by, and just enjoying the scenery and relaxation at the lake. She had a great sense of humor, quick wit, positive outlook to life, had to keep an eye on her husband, Gary; that was her full-time job, strong willed and a fighter to the end.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Carole and Charles Gomoll, mother-in-law; Karen Ketterer, and many more that have passed.
Survivors include, Husband, Gary Ketterer; Woodridge, IL. Brother, Justin (Stephanie) Gomoll, nephews and nieces: Samuel, Morgan, Maebel, and Landon of Kirkland, IL. She will be missed by many that touched her life.
Her husband, Gary, would love to say to her: “I love you, farewell my sweet angel, until we meet again, you are at peace, I love you.”
