
In Memory of Thelma S. (Rude) Engstrom
Thelma S. Engstrom, age 95, of Cameron, WI died Monday, February 10, 2025 at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Chetek.
She was born November 13, 1929 to Carl & Mildred (Berg) Rude in Barron County, WI. She attended all of her schooling at Cameron and she became Homecoming Queen in 1948 & Prom Queen in 1949. On March 5, 1960, she was married to Marvin Engstrom at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rice Lake. She spent many years as a waitress at area restaurants & supper clubs. She also worked as a sales person at Dayton’s in Minneapolis, for three different plants in Barron County, Lakeside Hospital in Rice Lake, Northern Wisconsin Colony in Chippewa Falls as a supervisor & milked cows at the Engstrom brother’s farm. She enjoyed country music & was a cat lover her entire life.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Marvin on January 9, 1999, brother: John Rude & sister: Lorraine Prill. She is survived by her brother: James Rude of Cameron, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
In accordance with Thelma’s wishes, no services are being planned and she will be interred with her husband at Pine Grove Cemetery in Cameron in the spring.
