Terry L. Mattson was born on January 4th, 1953, to Lester and Dorothy Mattson. His early years were formed by farming with his dad while his mother taught school. Many quality life lessons were learned at the time.

He graduated from Luck High School in 1971, married Patti Hansen in 1972 and they bought a dairy farm in Laketown in 1973. Along with farming, he worked for Laketown Township, the Polk County Highway Department, Scott’s Construction and always found time to hunt, fish and trap. He served on the Laketown board for 20 years, the Luck Fire department board and was president of the ambulance board.

Terry and Patti enjoyed working on the farm, gardening, cooking and canning together. Vacations were spent camping, canoeing, and traveling, with Alaska being his favorite. They loved summers at the family cabin on North Sand Lake.

He will be missed by his daughter April (Dan), son Zach (Lisa); and grandchildren Graham (Ellie) and Grayden Hershfield; Xander and Zane Mattson; Ashley (Cole), Derek and Tate Johnson; and former son in law Paul Hershfield. Brother Bob (Sue), in-laws and best of friends Judy and Dale Johnson, and many nephews, a niece and friends. Preceded in death by his sister Diane, brother Bill, his parents, and in-laws Roy and Sylvia Hansen.

In lieu of flowers, please send any memorials to the Luck Fire Dept, Luck Lions Club or any local charity of your choosing. A celebration of life will be held at the Luck Lions Hall (300 W 3rd Ave, Luck, WI 54853) in Luck, WI on Sunday, November 17th from 3-6pm with a short service and some music at 4:30pm.
