In Memory of Terence L. Wong

July 12, 1945 - October 30, 2022

Terry L. Wong, age 77, a resident of Siren, WI passes away on October 30, 2022. He was born on July 12th, 1945. He was raised by his loving adoptive parents Margaret and Ben living most of his life in Duluth and St Louis Park Minnesota.

Terry joined the army when he was 18 years old. He has one daughter Nicole, 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Terry worked many years for Wackenhut Security and moved to the Siren area where many of his Wackenhut friends lived. He worked at Wood Goods in Luck, Wi alongside friends Dan Good and Kathy Kettula and retired from there.

Terry met Donna Burdick in 1980 in Siren. Donna and Terry wed on November 10th, 1992 in Florida, later divorcing in 2016.

Terry enjoyed his role of being Uncle Terry to 11 nieces and nephews. He was also very proud to be godparent to Jessica Burdick and Chris Rowell and helping to raise Alicia Burdick through her high school years. Terry also had a special relationship with grandson Rohit. Terry always surprised the family at Lake 26 family camp with his waterskiing abilities-on one ski! His very intense book reviews of Harry Potter with fellow book worm Jaleesa Burdick. He would always say the movies were never as good as the book!

Terry was never a fix it type of guy-but he was book smart and could carry on a conversation about anything or state sport stats at the drop of a hat! He was highly intelligent! He was always up for a game of cranium at Christmas time and even though he was very competitive and won he was not above letting niece Tara Voss know “you really know your stuff”. He loved his daily newspaper and doing the NY Times crossword puzzle every day and books! He was very fond of the old tv shows such as Rockford files and Perry Mason -earning the nick name Terry Mason! He loved going on Backroad trips with Chuck and Faulkner listening to music, his dog Charmin, Sporty’s Bar, trivia, the Minnesota Vikings, lifelong friends Skoldy, Pup, Dan, Foley, Duffy, Rick Hayes, Faulkner, Kent, Dave, Brother Chuck, and fishing, although fishing was prohibited on canoe trips after hooking a few family members and dumping the canoe!

Terry will be greatly missed by his family and lifelong friends that he leaves behind, but he will be greeted in Heaven by all the friends and family who passed on before him-all waiting for some stimulating conversations with Terry. Ganawenim-Bamenim-inini you can let this one go now, you have done your job, you have taken care of your brother for 42 years. Blessed be the memory of Terence Lee Wong.

Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home.
