Tauno “Joe” Mike, age 41, of Signor, WI, died Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Tauno Joseph Mike was born November 10, 1979 in Hayward, WI, the son of Tauno and Linda (Mike) Stone.

He is survived by his mother Linda; sons Zac Handl & Alex Handl; daughters Leah Handl, Madelyn Handl, Sophie Handle, Clara Mike & Amelia Mike-Handl; four grandchildren; brothers Tauno Stark, Gregory Stone, Joshua Stone, Justin Whitney, David Butler, Tanner Stone & Chimakwa Nibawii Stone; sister Dena Waquie, Sarah Butler, Melissa Greyhair-Stewart & Julie Stark; many nephews & nieces.

Joe was preceded in death by his father Tauno Stone; grandparents Roger & Gladys Stone, Francis “Gadiin” Mike; nephew Thomas “Buster” Hammer Jr.; many aunts & uncless.

Tribal Funeral Rites will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Big Drum Ceremonial Center in Lac Courte Oreilles. Kellar Paap will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Lac du Flambeau. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Big Drum Ceremonial Center.

Honorary casket bearers will be Sharon Goss, Libby Gougé, Christopher Hanson, Patricia Johnson, Susan Poppe, Angel Potack, Jimmy Smith & Jimmy White.

Casket bearers will be Gary Belille, Jamie Joe Corbine Sr., Bobby Joe Gleason, Hunter Karaszewski, Jared Lenz, John John Quagon, Dan Schiller & Mike Trepanier.
