March 23, 1943 - August 1, 2023

Susan D. Pope, age 80, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2023. She was born on March 23, 1943 in Pikeville, Kentucky and is the daughter of Dr. Ralph Allen and Glima (Hughes) Allen. She spent her childhood in Pikeville, Kentucky. Susan attended Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida and University of Kentucky in Louisville. She married Bob Pope and moved to Altamonte Springs, Florida where they raised their two children, Robert and Angie. She was a homemaker and was also involved in the family business. She later moved to Siren/Webster, Wisconsin where she resided until her passing.

Susan was a devout Christian and loved the Lord. She was a loving and supportive mother and grandmother. To her…. family was everything. She spent a lot of time with her grandchildren, who she loved dearly. Susan was a fabulous cook and passed on her talent and love for cooking to her son and daughter. One of her specialties enjoyed by her children, grandchildren, other family members and friends were the artistic cakes and deserts that she created through the years. Her banana pudding was a family favorite enjoyed by all. Over the years she enjoyed gardening, reading, gathering recipes and collecting rare dolls. Hallmark movies were a favorite. And yes, it is hard to believe but Susan loved to wash dishes!!

Finally, no matter the situation she made sure that her hair was always styled and rarely missed her weekly appointments!! Susan was well respected and loved by all those she met and was truly a wonderful person.

Susan is survived by her children, Robert (Kim) Pope of Altamonte Springs, FL and Angie (Glen) Baker of Webster, Wisconsin; Grandchildren, Alex (Brittany) Pope of Tavares, FL, Emily Pope of Altamonte Springs, FL, MacKenzie Baker and Dennis Baker of Webster, WI; Great Grandson, Karston Pope of Tavares, FL; brother, Ralph Allen of Franklin, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
