In Memory of Steve L. Peterson
Steve Lawrence Peterson Age 66, of Rice Lake, WI, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at his home.
He was born on July 23, 1957 in Valley County, Montana to Corporal Lawrence and Marlene (Brost) Peterson.
Steve graduated from Dawson County in Glendive, Montana and was married to Tawnya Orcutt on March 7, 1981 and they later divorced in 1998. He owned and operated many restaurants - including the Frost Top, Here’s Johnny’s and Juan N’ Onlys in Rice Lake, was Manager of El Lago Theatre, Cine 3 and CEC Lake 7 Theatre in Rice Lake. He enjoyed life, was a social butterfly, loved going to music festivals, watering tubing and being with family and friends. Steve loved SPORTS, coaching softball and basketball.
He is survived by his 7 children, Misty Schleiss (Nick Bruzek), Heather (Greg) Sirek, Catherine (Travis) Carr, Nikita Peterson (Steven Long), Michelle (Dustin) Schleisman, Kala (Tyler) Fleming, and Steve Peterson II (McKenzie Greenwold); 22 grandchildren, Dominick, Divina, Destin, Daxton, Leonardo, Matthew, Lucas, Colten, Thatcher, Ramzy, Jabulani, Zander, Kayden, Theodore, Caladin, Ezmeralda, Eztavon, Ezekiel, Ezabella, Brylee, Jade and Xavia; 2 brothers, Doug Peterson and Greg Peterson; a sister, Cathy (David) Haas; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Corporal Lawrence and Marlene Peterson; and his exwife, Tawnya Orcutt.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30PM Sunday, January 28, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Barron, WI, Bishop Jay Jevne officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting and serving the family with the arrangements.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 starting at 3PM at Tipsy’s in Rice Lake.
