In Memory of Shelly M. Kannegiesser
Shelly Marie Kannegiesser, age 54, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 31, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with Breast Cancer, holding her daughter Jessica’s hand, while surrounded by her mother and her sister, Lori. She was born on June 22, 1968, the daughter of Terry L. Kannegiesser and Debra S. Kannegiesser in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Shelly lived in Hayward Wisconsin from a young age where she lived with her life partner Randy Miller.
Shelly graduated from Hayward High School in May of 1987. She then moved to Milwaukee, WI, for a short period of time, where she gave birth to her daughter Jessica Kannegiesser, who instantly became the love of her life. Shortly thereafter Shelly started her lifelong career in the service and hospitality industry, where she spent over a decade at the LCO Casino Buffet bringing a smile to everyone she served. This is not surprising as one of Shelly’s biggest passions in life was helping others. She was always helping those around her, and gave to those in need, regardless of how much or little she had at the time.
Some of the things Shelly had a passion for were playing bingo, taking Casino trips with her daughter and Aunt Jean, crocheting, and baking for family. She also enjoyed collecting dolphins and precious moments, and most importantly spending time with her daughter and her nieces and nephews as well as the rest of her family. Shelly was known for her huge heart, her great sense of humor, and her one-of-a-kind laugh. In her most recent days as she became home bound, Shelly enjoyed playing bingo online with a group of other ladies where she touched the hearts of even those she never met in person. It also brought her great joy to crochet blankets and anything else she could think of. Her most recent masterpieces were the beautiful blankets she made for her newest nieces Kenzie and Oakley Kannegiesser.
She is survived by her only child, Jessica Kannegiesser of Hayward, WI; life partner, Randy Miller of Hayward, WI; mother, Debby Davis of Youngtown, AZ; grandmother “Nonna”, Virginia Aiello of Suncity, AZ; brother, Jamey (Sandy) Kannegiesser of Hayward, WI; sister, Lori (Brian) Kannegiesser of Surprise, AZ; nieces and nephews, Denise Kannegiesser of Hayward, WI, James Kannegiesser of Hayward, WI, Brian Spellman Jr of Glendale, AZ, Brady Spellman of Surprise, AZ, Bria Spellman of Surprise, AZ, Skylar Spellman of Phoenix, AZ, Samantha Spellman of Chandler, AZ, Kenzie Kannegiesser of Surprise, AZ, Austen Gooch of El Mirage, AZ, Jenna Gooch of El Mirage, AZ, Olivia Jones of El Mirage, AZ, Ezra Jones of El Mirage, AZ; and great nieces, Oakley Kannegiesser of Hayward, WI, Natalie Lord of Surprise, AZ, Racquel Lord of Surprise, AZ, and Bexley Spellman of Surprise, AZ.
Shelly is preceded in death by her father, Terry Kannegiesser; stepmother, Diana Warlin; grandparents, Leonard “Papa” Kannegiesser, Dona Kannegiesser, Albert “Nonnu” Aiello; and her best friend and aunt, Jean St. Martin.
