In Memory of Sandra E. Rommel


May 23, 1947 - February 14, 2024

Sandra Elizabeth Rommel, age 76, of Frederic, Wisconsin, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at her home in Frederic.

Sandy was born May 23, 1947 in Frederic, Wisconsin to Harry and Verle (Nelson) Anderson of Frederic.

Sandy was united in marriage to John Rommel on October 19, 1972 at Salem Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In their early years of marriage, they enjoyed snowmobiling and downhill skiing. They also joined some card clubs and were blackjack dealers for the Lions Club casino nights. Sandy was an avid golfer and loved trying out different courses with co-workers and friends. She also bowled twice a week on two different leagues during the season. Sandy loved to do puzzles, board games, card game and many different crafts. She also loved to bake and decorate cookies, cakes and cupcakes. Sandy loved spending time with her grandchildren, whom she was very proud of.

After a year of college and then graduating from business school, Sandy worked as a legal secretary, working for four law firms, locally and in Minnesota. She also worked for two accounting firms in Minnesota. She obtained her Real Estate Broker's license and worked for Century 21 for several years. She served two terms as Town Clerk for the Town of Clam Falls while working at a local law firm and then worked as an auditor for a local casino. Sandy also worked various part-time jobs over the years.

She was preceded in death by her mother Verle, father Harry and step-mother Dorothy, her loving husband John of 47 years, sister-in­ law Patricia Van Patten, and brothers-in-law Charles Curry, Ken Van Patten.

She is survived by her children: Christopher Rommel of Eau Claire, WI, Keri (Bryan) Jensen of Shell Lake, WI, and Nicholas Rommel of Frederic, WI, four grandchildren Zachary (Riley) Jensen and Aaden Jensen and Kaylyn and Morgyn Rommel, great granddaughter Birklie Jo, sister Cheryl (Gary) Parkins of Danbury, WI, sister-in-law Charlotte Curry of Key Largo, Florida, nieces nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at a later date.
