In Memory of Rosemarie Wondra
Rosemarie (Rose) Julie Wondra, 64, a resident of Siren, WI was called to her heavenly home on July 21, 2021.
Rose was born in Frederic, WI on April 10, 1957, to Duane and Julie Lockert.
Rose lived in New Brighton, MN until 5th grade when her family moved to Frederic to run the family service station. While in high school she enjoyed swimming, bowling, cheerleading, dancing at the Rec with friends and working at the Topper Cafe. She was crowned Miss Frederic her senior year and graduated in 1975.
Rose married Scott Wondra on August 19, 1978, and was blessed with two daughters, Jamie and Mandi. The family resided in Siren where Rose, with her heart of service, chose employment that allowed her to interact with the community while also raising her two girls, never missing a concert or sporting event. The love she had for her family was evident in the fact that she would drop everything to be there if needed. Time spent with her grandchildren was always very special and fun. She gave them her undivided attention, was never in a rush and was always so patient and loving. She enjoyed bringing them to parks, to the beach to swim and all around spoiling them. Rose never thought twice about driving hours to watch grandchildren’s sporting events, and also passed her love for music on by teaching them to play songs on the ukulele and piano. Most importantly, she passed on her love for the Lord and enjoyed taking them to church Sunday mornings after a weekend sleepover.
Rose loved to dance and was able to coax even the most reluctant to join her on the dance floor. She enjoyed traveling and was drawn to the peaceful tranquility of the ocean. She fell in love with the island of Maui and took numerous trips back to the island over the years. Rose also loved weekend adventures with her high school girlfriends and regular lunch dates with her cousins. She was quick to make new friends everywhere she went, with her big smile and giving heart, she always had the right words to say and a big hug to offer. She loved people and people loved her.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Anthony (Tony) Lockert; nephew, Troy Lockert; father-in-law, Gerald (Bud) Wondra, Sr.; brothers-in-laws, Gerald (Buddy) Wondra, Jr., Todd Wondra and Mark Wondra.
Rose is survived by her loving husband, Scott Wondra; daughters, Jamie (Jake) Geisler and Mandi (Troy Berg); grandchildren, Torin, Joely, Malia and Jorgia; mother-in-law, Elly Wondra; aunt, Betty Hanson; along with many other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on July 30, 202,1 at 5:00 pm at the Siren Covenant Church (visitation 3:30-5:00 pm) with a social gathering immediately following the service.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Swedberg-Taylor funeral home.
