In Memory of Rose Ida Morley

May 27, 1922  -  January 8, 2018

Rose Ida Morley, 95 ½ years old, a long-time resident of the town of Beaver Brook, died January 8, 2018 at the Shell Lake Health Care Center.

She was born on May 27, 1922, in Turtle Lake to Theodore and Amelia (Bentz) Battcher.  She graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1942.  She was united in marriage to Woodrow Morley on June 4, 1943.  They moved to the town of Beaver Book in 1951 and farmed there until 1975.  He died on January 24, 1999.

She enjoyed; gardening, painting, and quilting.  She made her first quilt in high school home-economics and continued sewing all her life making hundreds of quilts.  Never an idle moment.  She was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness in 1976.  She liked sharing God’s word and her hope with many people.  She lived happily at home, all her life, with help from her family in later years.  A severe stroke ended her dream of living to 103, spending her last 5 ½ weeks in the care of the Shell Lake Health Center.

She is survived by: five children; two sons, Teddy (Priscilla) Morley of Spooner, Woodie (Darla) Morley of Dresser; three daughters, Finnette (Jack) Barney of Brill, Carol (Lloyd) Brouillard of Spring Lake Park, MN, Katherine (Frank) Melton of Sarona, many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a few great-great grandchildren, a great-great-great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by; her parents, her husband, Woodrow, and four brothers.  She was the last in her family.A memorial service for Rose will be held at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Spooner WI, on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Mark Erickson officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at The Kingdom Hall.
