In Memory of Ronald Lindblad
Ronald Lindblad, 79, of Grantsburg, WI passed away peacefully at home in his favorite lounge chair with his family at his side on January 9th, 2022.
Ron was born February 22nd, 1942 to Chester and Luella Lindblad.
Ron graduated from Frederic high school in 1960, and shortly after became a butcher at local grocery stores. While working as a butcher he was united in marriage to Avis Amundsen on October 13th, 1962 and raised two children, Sheri and Randy. Ron then had a great idea to start his own business, “Ron’s Portable Butcher Block” which brought him farm to farm making many friends while processing their livestock.
Ron was a faithful and devoted member of Trade Lake Baptist Church. He was a man who loved his Lord and Savior. Ron loved singing God’s story with the Danielson/Lindblad quartet. He also served as a youth group leader for many years, alongside his wife, Avis, taking the youth waterskiing all day, along with many other events. Ron and Avis served as caretakers of Skonewood Christian Retreat Center for 28 years. During this time they took many vacations to enjoy their love of Blue Grass festivals. Ron also worked for DR Tech as a stainless steel welder until retirement.
In his spare time his love was outdoor projects of any kind. When not tinkering outside, he loved watching his Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers, and game shows on TV.
More than anything, Ron loved spending time with his family and never missed the opportunity to watch his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in all their sports and activities.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Sheri Finch of Grantsburg, WI; son, Randy Lindblad of Brooklyn Park, MN; three grandchildren, Shane (Natalie) Finch of Grantsburg, WI; Payton Lindblad and Jayden Lindblad of Brooklyn Park, MN; great grandchildren, Jaxon Finch and Allie Finch; brother, Duane (Karen) Lindblad; brother-in-law, Henry (Patricia) Amundsen; sister-in-law, Joyce (Gary) Peterson; along with many nieces and nephews.
