Ronald Johnson Age 85, of Rice Lake, WI, died Saturday, September 17, 2022 in Rice Lake.

He was born on June 23, 1937 in Minnesota to Ingve and Genevieve Staaf and adopted by Hjalmer and Dorothy Johnson.

Ron graduated from Elk Mound High School in 1955, graduated from UW Stout and then received his Masters Degree and EDS in Illinois. He was in the United States National Guards for a few years, where he defended the bars and strip clubs of the greater Seattle area from Communist Infiltration. Ron was married to the love of his life, Sandra Hoel on December 18, 1965. Ron was an instructor at WITC in Rice Lake for 29 years. He enjoyed reading, golfing, fishing, curling and daily happy hours with Whiskey Manhattans. Ron loved watching the Green Bay Packers, telling stories and solving math problems.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Johnson; children, Laura (Jauhn) Etlicher and Kevin Johnson; 3 grandchildren, Chelsea, Camille and Carlee; 5 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Staaf; a sister, Margaret Duffy; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Neil Johnson and Richard Staaf.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at the United Presbyterian Church in Rice Lake, Rev. Dr. Kathy Smith officiating, with interment in Orchard Beach Cemetery in Rice Lake.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service.

Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is assisting the family with the arrangements.
