In Memory of Ronald H. Dahl

March 3, 1951 - January 31, 2023

Ronald (Ron) Herbert Dahl, age 71, of Luck, WI passed away peacefully.

Ron was born to Herbert and Doris Dahl on March 3, 1951 in St. Paul, MN. While Ron was at a young age, the family moved to rural Appleton, MN.

They lived on a small family farm where Ron enjoyed raising crops, hogs, chickens, and other animals. He particularly enjoyed his childhood dog Prince. Growing up, Ron was confirmed and active in the Minnesota Valley Lutheran Church. As Ron got older, he worked with his father on the road, installing tile floors in buildings across the Upper Midwest. In 1969, Ron graduated from Appleton High School and made plans to attend the tech college in Willmar, MN where he majored in two-way radio communications. He met the love of his life, Corrine Hanson of Madison, MN and they were joyfully united in marriage on October 2nd, 1971 at Faith Lutheran Church. He had two daughters, Robin and Cassandra. In 2002, Ron and Corrine were blessed with a grand-daughter, Isabella Petersen, who is currently a junior at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Life brought a great Kansas adventure to Ron and Corrine as they moved there shortly after finishing their schooling. They lived in Hutchinson, KS where Ron put his radio skills to use for a local company. When the time came to move for a different job, Ron and Corrine relocated to western Wisconsin in the rural Luck area. It was there that Ron put in many years working for Motorola, based out of Milltown. In 2002, Ron transitioned to a job with Chisago County, MN in their radio communications department. Ron truly loved his job and especially enjoyed time with his coworkers. In March 2020, “Radio Ron” officially retired.

From a young age, Ron always had a great appreciation for nature. He was an avid pheasant and duck hunter and also deeply enjoyed fishing. In addition to hunting and fishing, Ron supported wildlife by attending Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever events over the years. He also went out of his way to provide snacks for the local chipmunk population in rural Polk County! Ron loved flowers and gardening outside of his country home. Over the years, the family enjoyed many pet cats, including Destiny, Fuzzball, and of course, Spooky. In the fall, Ron looked forward to watching the Vikings play football. He often said, “They’re professionals paid to catch the ball. So catch the ball!” There are also great family memories of going to Twins games in the old Metrodome, including waiting around to visit players after the games had finished. Ron also was a bit of a “foodie” as he really appreciated a good meal and developed great talents on the grill.

Ron will forever be remembered for his love of his wife and family, his wonderful sense of humor, and his strong work ethic.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Doris Dahl, and a sister Cheryl Ostenson. Ron leaves to celebrate his memory his wife Corrine; two daughters, Robin Petersen (Paul) of New Prague, MN and Cassandra Mesik (Jim) of Glencoe, MN; one grand-daughter, Isabella Petersen; and a sister, Donna Johnson (Richard), nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Funeral services for Ron will take place at 11:00am on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Joy Lutheran Church, 501 State Rd 35, Centuria, Wisconsin. There will be a visitation 1 hour prior to services from 10 to 11am at the church. A luncheon will follow serices at the church. There will be a private family interment at a later date at the Faith Lutheran Cemetery in Madison, Minnesota.
