In Memory of Roberta Sahr

February 14, 1945 - February 14, 2022

Roberta Sahr passed away on her 77th birthday, February 14, 2022 at Frederic Nursing and Rehab, with her family by her side. She fought a courageous fight with MS and several other health issues.

Roberta was born February 14, 1945 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Robert and Elaine (McKee) Thiets.

She graduated from Mechanic Arts High School in 1963. She worked at the First Trust Company in downtown St. Paul, until she met a pig farmer from Wisconsin in 1970. She married Ray (Butch) Sahr on September 12. 1971 at Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church. She bragged about purchasing her wedding dress at Dayton's during her lunch break. They had one daughter, Allie.

After moving to Frederic, she worked at the Frederic Co-op and Northwestern Electric. She was active in the Lewis Church and The Good Cheer Club. For many years she bowled in leagues, both a woman's league and couples league.

On March 5, 2007, Roberta's shining light was born, her granddaughter, Hannah. Everyone she ran into heard all about Hannah. She babysat Hannah until her health didn't allow her to any longer.

Roberta is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elaine and sister, Kristine Erickson.

Roberta is survived by her husband of 50 years, Butch, daughter Allie, son-in-law, Mike, and granddaughter, Hannah, all of Frederic. Her brother, David (Rusty) Thiets, nieces Kellie Carden and Jennie Connors, all of St. Paul. And special niece, Gretchen (Erickson) Smith of Hurlock, MD, and several great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by wonderful neighbors, church family, and friends.

Roberta's family would like to thank all of the past and present staff of Frederic Nursing and Rehab for the care and love they gave Roberta over the last 7 years. You meant so much, especially over Covid lockdown when you could love on Roberta when we couldn't. We appreciate you all more than we can ever express.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, at 11am, with visitation one hour before at Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church, Lewis, WI.

Arrangements are entrusted to Rowe Funeral Home, and the Northwest Wisconsin Cremation Center in Milltown.
