
In Memory of Robert “Bob” E. Brunberg
On July 24th, 2025, Robert “Bob” Elmer Brunberg passed away at age 87 at Hayward Health Services after a brief illness.
Bob was born April 15th, 1938 to Elmer and Herta (Wende) Brunberg in Hayward, WI. He was the second child and first son in his family of nine children. He attended Hayward schools, graduating in the class of 1956. He then went on to Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, IL where he completed appliance and electrical repair training. He began his working years as an employee of Alexander McGill at age 16. He continued working in this role until he took ownership of the business from 1975-2017.
Bob was married to Linnea Quail on May 20th, 1961 at First Lutheran Church in Hayward. They were blessed with two children and shared 64 years of marriage.
Bob was a part of the Wisconsin National Guard 724 Engineer Battalion that was activated to Fort Lewis, WA in the Fall of 1961.
Bob was a dedicated family man. He is survived by his wife Linnea; children Bruce Brunberg and Karen (Todd) Williamson; granddaughters Natalie (Adam) Patterson and Emily (Luke) DeBriyn; and great-grandchildren Hoyt, Knox, Mack, Royce, and Sylvie. He is also survived by sisters Janice West, Judy Plaszcz, and Linda Johnson; brothers David (Leslee) Brunberg and Ted Brunberg. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters JoAnn and Joyce; and brother Albert.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 15th, 2025 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Bratley-Nelson Funeral Home in Hayward. A private family service is planned.
