In Memory of Ricky W. Troff
Rick Troff's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with threads of passion and unwavering dedication. Born on September 3, 1953, amidst the rumble of wheels in the back seat of a Hudson driven by his Grandfather Martin Geerdes, in northern Iowa, Rick's destiny seemed intertwined with the road. His beloved 71’ Cuda, painted a rich, deep green, stood as a testament to his automotive devotion, a source of immense pride and joy.
Rick Troff's professional journey began at Ashbach & Co., where he refined his skills as a heavy equipment operator and supervisor. After gaining valuable experience, he joined forces with his father in a new business venture. Together, they navigated the entrepreneurial landscape, laying the groundwork for Rick's eventual solo endeavor. Eventually, Rick embarked on his own business venture, founding The Sewerworks, a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering determination.
Rick's involvement in his community was profound. As his sons pursued their passion for hockey, he selflessly dedicated himself to supporting the Amery Youth Hockey Association Indoor Ice Facility. From earthwork to plumbing, Rick's hands-on approach left an indelible mark on the project, reflecting his deep commitment to his children's endeavors. He didn't merely stand on the sidelines; he immersed himself in coaching and followed his sons' hockey careers with unwavering enthusiasm.
A man of many talents, Rick's versatility shone brightest when faced with life's challenges. His wealth of knowledge and can-do attitude rendered seemingly insurmountable obstacles simple for those fortunate enough to have him in their lives. To know Rick was to be captivated by his fascinating persona, a testament to his enduring legacy.
Rick is survived by his wife, Patricia, his mother Lucille, sons Shane, Rory, & stepson Erik, brother Randy & sister Sandra. Grandchildren; Adrian, Miles, Ava, Oscar, Zoe and Dodge.
Preceded in death, his father Wendell Troff and Uncle Lowell Craig and many others that are missed.
The service will be held on May 25, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1578 85th Ave, Amery, WI 54001. Visitation at 10:00am, funeral at 11:00am. Celebration of life at his son Rory’s house after service.
The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria, has been entrusted with arrangements.
