In Memory of Richard O. Norum
Richard (Dick) Orville Norum 86 of Grantsburg WI passed away on May 1st after a long and admirable fight with cancer.
Dick was born on August 14th, 1936, to Helen and Al Norum in Minneapolis, MN After he graduated from Mound Westonka High School, he went on to work in the automotive field rebuilding engines where he quickly thereafter went into business for himself. Dick owned an engine rebuilding shop for many years until he left that field to be a manufacturer's representative. He covered the Northern part of the US and is still a national legend today in the engine rebuilding field. He not only knew the business but could charm others with his stories. He was passionate about telling stories throughout his entire life and very good at recalling memories.
Dick married young and had 3 children Kim, Candi, Ricky. In 1967, Richard met his second wife Karen, and they had 3 children, Cherie, Derrick, and Jonathan. Family was very important to him. He touched a lot of lives and helped so many people along the way.
He is survived by his wife Karen, brother Raymond, daughters Kim, Candi, Cherie and sons Ricky, Derrick, and Jon.
