In Memory of Richard D. Doyscher
Richard Doyscher passed away on January 31, 2023. He was born in St. Paul, MN and spent many happy years there. After he graduated from Johnson High School, he followed in his father’s footprints and became an auto mechanic specializing in electronics. He worked at Koppy Motors in downtown St. Paul and then Trail Dodge in Inver Grove Heights. He loved his work, and he made many long lasting friendships there.
When he retired he moved to Northern Wisconsin with his wife, Gladys. He always loved Wisconsin and the rural area.
He always wanted to help his family and friends. He was a quiet, kind, intelligent and a very humorous man. He had a gift of telling a story and had everyone either laughing or crying, but it would always touch you in some way.
Since being retired, he loved going to the Frederic Library where there was a group of people from all walks of life that would gather in the morning and talk about whatever was on one’s mind. They called themselves the Turnips. And it became a great joy for Richard.
Richard absolutely enjoyed motorcycling and travelling to many places in Minnesota, Wisconsin and out west until his later years when he was not able to travel.
He always struggled with depression and anxiety. As he aged it worsen. Eventually, he lost the battle and passed away on January 31, 2023. He will be terribly missed by his family and friends.
Richard is survived by his wife, Gladys Benson, his two children, Lynn and Steve Doyscher, his brother Darrell Doyscher (Carolyn), and grandchildren and cousins.
He asked not to have a service, but if possible, to spread his ashes over his two Spiritual places, Lake Superior and The Black Hill, SD.
