Richard Anthony Meronk, 87, passed away June 14th, 2024, at his home in Spooner, WI surrounded by his loving family. Born April 18th, 1937, in Spooner, WI, Dick was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Dick graduated from Spooner High School in 1955 and joined the Army National Guard in 1960. He married Kathleen Scanlon on October 5th, 1961, at St. Francis De Sales Church in Spooner. Richard was then stationed at Fort Lewis, WA, during the Berlin Crisis.

Upon returning to Wisconsin, Richard and Kathy built their home together in Rusk Township and worked side by side on their dairy farm for over 60 years. Dick was well known for his love of farming, woodworking, gardening, fishing, cutting firewood and helping others. If you knew him at all, chances were high you would receive a heaping box of garden vegetables, a handmade wooden picture frame, lamp or candle holder, or possibly even make it into one of his cherished poems.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Kathleen, children; Jamie Meronk, Lorrie (Steve) Meister, grandsons; Adam (Grace) Meister, Justin Meister (Fiancé Elizabeth Borelli) Brandon Meister, great-granddaughter Elvira Meister and special niece, Linda Henning. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Anna Meronk, infant son Randolph Meronk, Father and Mother-in-law Martin and Lenora Scanlon, and many dear friends and relatives.
