In Memory of Richard A. Day
Richard (Rick) Day, born June 7,1949, passed away peacefully at home on June 25, 2024.
He had been a fixture in Spooner since the late 1950s. In his early days, he was a familiar sight on main street known for jumping trains and causing mischief. Later, he could be found working at the laundry or using his musical talent and showmanship to entertain in various bands.
He spent decades as a master carpenter and left his mark on numerous homes and establishments in the area. Many remember him in his purple truck plastered with the motto “What a difference a Day makes.”
He and Terry, his wife of 45 years, raised two kids, Jacob and Sarah (Jesse). He loved spending time and having adventures with his five grandchildren: Aramus Day and Auden, Brahm, Caelis and Daysa Cress.
He is well known for his deep commitment to his AA family. For 41 years, he shared his experience, strength, hope, in support of many in the community.
His later years were spent drinking coffee at the local coffee joints. He always had a large dimpled smile to share and more than one story to spin.
Godspeed, dear Rick. Your stories, humor, and smiles will be greatly missed, but you will always be with us in memory, heart, and spirit.
Per his request, no services will be held.
