In Memory of Reginald R. Norgard
Reginald “Reg” Norgard, 67, passed away peacefully on June 23 after a courageous battle with cancer. Reg was surrounded by his family and is best friend Earl (the dog).
Reg was born on October 11, 1954 to Russell and Helen Norgard.
He graduated from Unity High School in 1973. Reg worked as a cattle dealer with his dad, Russell for many years. In 1977 Reg met and married Cindy Cogswell. Reg had one daughter, Angela and he and Cindy had Tennille and Sam to make their family complete. There was always a dog that was part of the crew. Mingo, Scout, Buck and now Earl were always important members.
Reg loved to spend time playing for the Pat’s Pub softball team, going to the Buck Horn to deer hunt or just sit and tell crazy stories and going to the cabin on Lipsett Lake. Reg was a master at the art of bullshit. Many are still wondering what the truth really is! Reg also enjoyed some trips to Las Vegas to gamble and work his way on stage to sing along with Jimmy Rogers.
In 1996 Reg surprised Cindy by telling her he bought a bar. Wise Guys became a place for everyone to enjoy a cocktail, tell stories, and maybe play a bit of cribbage.
Reg is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Helen Norgard. He is survived by his wife Cindy, daughter Angela (Russ), Tennille (MJ and Malaya), and Sam (Jessica), 4 grandchildren, Max, Sophia, Madyson and Lilly, and two sisters, Marilyn (Bill) and Bonnie. Julie “Jules” Delougherty has become an honorary family member through the years and has always been Reg’s right-hand gal.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Milltown Community Center on Friday, July 8th from 4-8PM! Reg’s former pastor, Rob Lubben will facilitate a short remembrance at 5 PM. There will be time to share stories if you wish. Please come as you are- we aren’t fancy folks. There will be food and beverages provided.
