In Memory of Phyllis M. Gillett


May 11, 1930 - June 25, 2023

Phyllis May Gillett, age 93, of Cameron, WI passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Phyllis was born May 11, 1930, in Elmwood, WI, to Philip and Rose M. (Weiss) Fedie and was the youngest of four children. When she was four years old, her family moved to New Auburn, WI and she graduated from New Auburn High School in 1947. On April 18th, 1950, she married Lawrence R. Gillett. Together they raised their family and built a life as dairy farmers. On the family farm, everyone worked hard, played hard and learned to respect. This work ethic has been passed down through the generations. She was an active member in both the Chetek VFW Auxiliary and the Cameron American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to bake cookies for all her family members. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, and most of all her family. Anyone that needed a place to stay or a hot meal was always welcomed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Lawrence on February 8, 2006, her son: Randy, brothers: Ward, Charlie and Clarence. She is survived by her son: Vernon (Sue) Gillett, daughter: Brenda Kisling (Bryan Vesper), daughter in-law: Barb Gillett, grandchildren: Mike (Candi) Gillett, Mark (Cammy) Gillett, Melissa Gillett, Connie (Richard) Lilly, Mindy Gillett, Benjamin Kisling and Jason Kisling, great-grandchildren: Crystal Gillett, Ryan Gillett, Rachel (Austin) Ennis, Hunter Gillett, Hannah Gillett, Caitlin Gillett, Mikayla Gillett, Savannah Lilly, Haily Klump, Caleb Gillett and Colton Gillett, great-great grandchildren: Mylo and Amelia Myer.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1 at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Ned Lenhart officiating & interment following at Pine Grove Cemetery in Cameron. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home and there will be an American Legion/VFW Auxiliary memorial service beginning at 10:45. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
