Patrick (Rick) O’Connell, Rice Lake, Wisconsin, 46, passed away on August 4th in his home, with his best friend and life partner Michelle Magnus by his side.

Patrick was born in Germany, February 18, 1977, and adopted by Yvonne (King) O’Connell and Jonathan O’Connell.

He lived most of his childhood in Winneconne and Mazomanie, WI. He graduated in 1995 from Wisconsin Heights High school.

Growing up, Patrick watched a lot of Packer and Badger games with his family, which in turn cultivated his love for football. He loved watching sports, especially college football. Every Saturday would be carefully planned around what games he wanted to watch throughout the day. Additionally, he enjoyed music and attended at least two to three concerts each year. This was one of his favorite past times he shared with Michelle.

Patrick made everyone around him feel special and included with his charismatic personality. He was generous to a fault and willing to help anyone who needed it, especially those who were often overlooked or missed. Patrick was a faithful and loyal person. He prayed nightly for his family and all those who needed it around him.

He will be greatly missed.

Patrick is preceded in death by his father, Jonathan O’Connell of Madison and his mother, Yvonne O’Connell of Sauk City, and his brother Timothy O’Connell (1992).

He is survived by his partner in life Michelle Magnus of Rice Lake, his sons, Jasper Smith of Mercer, PA, and Maddox of Madison and seven of his siblings, Michael O’Connell (Deb Rathermel) of Madison, Oktay O’Connell of Sun Prairie, Audry (Doug) Langeberg of Omro, John O’Connell of Oshkosh, Orhan (Krissi) O’Connell of Madison, Tina Farist of Akron, OH and many nieces and nephews.
