Patrick Joseph Jilek, age 80, of Birchwood, WI, died Friday, July 21, 2023 in Rice Lake, WI.

He was born March 17, 1943 to Charles J. Jilek and Marie Angela (Janosik) Jilek.

He was the 5th of their 6 children. In childhood Patrick attended both Birchwood elementary and Birchwood high school. He worked at Birchwood manufacturing for one year and he ran the family farm with his parents for 22 years. He enjoyed planting and harvesting. Really enjoyed running vehicles. He logged with his brothers Al and Larry for 10 years Patrick loved hunting, fishing and traveling out west. Loved eating out. In the winter he was an avid snowmobiler and he also loved making candles and painting accent pieces that he used for gifts.He was a good cook and enjoyed trying new recipes. His stuffing was a real favorite for family at holiday dinners. He enjoyed working in his garden where he raised green beans, zucchini and squash which he sold at his stand on HWY 48.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Bernice Kemp, brothers Charles and Albert Jilek and nephew Greg Kemp.

Patrick is survived by his brother Larry Jilek, sister Mary Ann Jilek, brother- in-law Russell Kemp, five nieces and nephews, eleven great nieces and nephews and soon to be 23 great, great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Birchwood, WI, Father Adam Laski officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery in Birchwood, WI. Visitation will be held from 4-6PM Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. John’s Catholic Church in Birchwood or Birchwood American Legion Post.
