In Memory of Patricia Ann Hoffmann

March 17, 1933 - November 5, 2022

Patricia A. Hoffmann (Blechinger), age 89 of Turtle Lake died November 5, 2022 in Eau Claire WI.

She was born March 17,1933 in Almena, WI to Herman and Elizabeth (Becker) Blechinger. Pat attended grade school at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Almena and graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1957.

On June 26, 1954 she was married to Lloyd Hoffmann at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Almena. They were blessed with 5 daughters who survive her.

After high school, she worked for 1 1/2 years for Honeywell in Minneapolis until her marriage. Her next place of employment was at the Service Station in Almena (Corktown) which Lloyd had purchased in 1953. Here she pumped gas, fixed tires, put in spark plugs, and did the bookkeeping while Lloyd spent a lot of time building their new home in Almena. In 1966 they purchased an Amoco station in Turtle Lake and built a new home there. But her full time duties were to be a stay-at-home mom and bookkeeper at home for the Turtle Lake business.

Besides raising her own family, there were always many extra children around as she babysat for grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends on a steady basis besides a few drop-ins. She always made time to care for another one.

Pat enjoyed sewing, snowmobiling, mowing the lawn, gardening and canning and freezing to keep the shelves stocked so the girls could go "shopping in mom's basement" as they called it. She was involved in many volunteer activities - Brownie Girl Scout Program for many years, Turtle Lake Lioness in both the local and District Level, St. Ann's CCW, school organizations when the girls were in school, the polls on election days, or just helping at other functions like the blood bank, car show or other local activities Lloyd took part in, like the WI Lions Eye Glass Mission to Mexico for seven years.

She was a recipient of a Lions Melvin Jones award and also received the Diocese of Superior Pax Christi award, both of which she was very proud of.

She and Lloyd enjoyed many trips abroad and in the states but she was always happiest to be back home.

Pat is survived by her 5 daughters, Kay Cook of Turtle Lake, Sharon Nordquist of Turtle Lake, Cynthia Naessen of Turtle Lake, Carol (Lester) Peetz of Clayton, Jacalyn Hoffmann of Cedar Lake, IN; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Jane Leschisin of Clayton; brother, Joseph (Jean) Blechinger of Almena; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, parents, son-in-law, Douglas Nordquist, Dennis Wirth, and great-grandson, Josiah Cook; sister, Barbara (Paul) Etlicher of Kenosha; brother-in-law, Bill Leschisin; nephew, Tom Blechinger; other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, November 10 at St. Ann Catholic Church. Visitation one hour prior and from 4 - 7 PM on Wednesday, November 9 at Skinner Funeral Home.

Interment St. Ann Cemetery, Turtle Lake.
