In Memory of Noel D. Wahlstrand


October 18, 1942 - April 7, 2023

Noel Wahlstrand, age 80, of Hayward, WI passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023 at his home.

Noel David Wahlstrand was born October 18, 1942, in St. Paul, MN the son of Harold and Elinor (Benson) Wahlstrand.

Noel was raised in White Bear Lake, MN where he graduated from high school. He went onto the University of Minnesota where he received his bachelor’s degree in engineering, and then continued his education towards his masters. While in college he was an avid bridge player. Noel began work for Rosemont Inc., an aerospace engineering company, as an electrical engineer. While working there the company became Emmerson Processing which Noel continued to work for. On July 27, 1987, Noel was joined in marriage to Lynne Lindgren in San Francisco, CA. While at Emmerson, Noel made many great friendships that would continue long after his working career. In 2008, Noel and Lynne moved to Hayward, WI where Noel enjoyed working in the woods. He was a master woodsman who was excellent at felling trees and operated his own sawmill. He made all kinds of furniture for the lumber he created. Noel also created his own dock and boat lift launch and removal system which he sold to other cabins in the area. Some of his favorite pastimes including shooting his slingshot and going to the LCO Casino to play Texas Holdem.

Noel is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lynne; children, Elizabeth (David) Page of St. Paul, MN, Ben Wahlstrand of Truckee, CA; stepdaughter, Lishinna Rolbiecki of Venice Beach, CA; three grandchildren; three siblings, Jan Bruschett of Stottsdale, VT, Kathleen Wahlstrand of San Diego, CA, Ken (Martha) Wahlstrand of Marshfield, WI; several nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children, Virginia May.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held for Noel at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023, at Hayward Funeral Home.

A gathering with family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
