Michael “Mike” Gertson Age 76, of Chetek, WI, died Saturday, September 10, 2022 in Rice Lake, WI.

He was born on September 23, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa to Eugene and Marcella (Kron) Gertson.

Mike graduated from Mater dei Catholic High School in Clinton, Iowa and then attended college for a few years. He was married to Patricia Hoover on September 30, 1966 in LaPorte, Indiana. Mike was on the Clinton Police Department from 1968 until his retirement in 2010. Mike enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, Green Bay Packers and the Atlanta Braves. He was a very kind and loving man; his personality is something that everyone is going to miss about him.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Chad) Amborn; a son-in-law, Jeff Huizenga; 2 grandchildren, Alec Curran and Claire Huizenga; 3 brothers, Terry (Marcia) Gertson, Eugene Gertson Jr and Tony (Wendy) McAndrews; 2 sisters, Penny (Jim) Campbell and Mary (LeRoy) Jarrett; brother-in-law, Louie Kraciun; many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Debbie Huizenga; parents; 2 sisters, Sharon Matzen and Linda Kraciun.

Private family services will be held. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is handling the services for the family.
