In Memory of Michael D. Turnipseed
Michael Dean Turnipseed, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away at the age of 53 in Chetek, Wl, on December 15, 2024. Born on July 6, 1971, in Hillsboro, Wl, to Gary “Dean” and Lois (Burchell) Turnipseed. Michael grew up in a warm and loving family, surrounded by the beauty of Wisconsin's heartland.
A proud graduate of Hillsboro High School in 1990, Michael carried his passion for learning to Winona State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in 1996. His love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him, as Michael was an avid hunter and fisherman. He found peace and joy in the natural world and shared this passion with friends and family alike. His beloved furry companions, Murphy, Brody, and Wilby gave him comfort and provided Michael unconditional love while resting at home.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his beloved children, Hannah Turnipseed (her fiancé Josh), Bennett Turnipseed, and Brandon Prisk. His guiding presence will be missed every day. Mike was a cherished son to Lois and Gary Dean Turnipseed and a brother, whose guidance and laughter will be sorely missed by his sister, Angie Thompson, her husband, Leonard; their sons, Justin (Erin) and Kyle Thompson and great nephews, Harrison and Mason.
Michael's family tree was rooted in love and strength, with branches extending to many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will remember him fondly. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John K. Connors and Peg Connors, Arnold and Arlene Burchell, and a special cousin, Todd Kuester.
Though Michael's journey ended far too soon, the memories he created with his family and friends will continue to resonate. He was a beacon of light in the lives of those he touched, and his spirit will forever be felt in the rustling leaves, the calm waters, and the laughter of his children.
Michael's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring bonds of family. As the sun sets on his earthly journey, those who loved him take solace in the knowledge that he is at peace. He is survived by his children, his parents, his sister, his nephews, and the memories of his beloved dogs, Ozzie and Milo, who surely greeted him with wagging tails at the end of his path.
Farewell, Michael; your journey here is complete, but your story will continue to unfold in the memories of those who loved you and the lives you touched. May you find rest and joy everlasting.
