Merlyn Eugene Wehrman, age 91, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023 at his residence in Hayward, WI.

He was born on February 5, 1932 in Ashland, WI, the son of William and Zua (Holly) Wehrman.

He was united in marriage to Beverly Mae Anderson on June 25, 1951 in Pine City, MN. They chose to raise their family in Silver Bay, MN before retiring back to Hayward.

Merlyn retired from Reserve Mining Company in Silver Bay and Bird’s Eye in Waseca, MN. He often worked two jobs cutting pulp or planting trees. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. They had several fur babies that they enjoyed and spent many winters in Arizona.

He is survived by his children, Sandra (Odie) Coffey of Henrico, VA, Robert Alan Wehrman of Aurora, MN, Russell Wehrman, Wenda (Jim) Whereatt of Lake Nebagamon, WI; his grandchildren, Amanda, Bradon, Monica, Cory, C.J., Ryan, Andrew, Matt, and Kelsey; 20 great grandchildren, his sister, Grace Fleury; his brother, Larry (Bernie) Wehrman; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Merlyn is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beverly and sister, Delores Peterson of Laramie, WY.

The lives of both Beverly and Merlyn will be celebrated with a funeral service that will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Hayward Funeral Home, 15571 W County Highway B in Hayward, where visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward.
