Mary Strand Age 67, of Mikana, WI, died Thursday, April 6, 2023 after a courageous 6 month battle with liver cancer.

She was born on September 19, 1955 in Minnesota to Alan and Eleanor (Plain) Hefter.

Mary was married to David Strand on April 13, 1974. They owned and operated B&R Motors in Rice Lake for many years. Mary was a beautiful person on the inside and out. She would help anyone who needed assistance. Mary had a great sense of humor, laugh and a smile that will always be remembered. Mary loved her yard and flowers, she would sit and drink her coffee and would listen and watch the birds every morning. She also enjoyed riding on the motorcycle, cooking, baking, the love she had of her animals and especially loved being with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, David Strand; 2 sons and daughter-in-law, Rick & Jackie Strand and Dusty Strand; 7 grandchildren, Carson, Ellie, Devon, Kelsee, Joel, Evan and Olivia; 2 sisters, Pam Allen and Rita Hensel.

She was preceded in death by a son, Brent; her parents, Alan and Eleanor; and her step father, Gordon Merrill.

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 12-3PM at Cedar Lake Grill in Mikana, WI. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting the family with the arrangements.

In lieu of memorials, cards or flowers, the family kindly requests your presence at the celebration of life as the best way to honor and remember our loved one. Simply being there and showing your love and support is often the most meaningful thing you can do.
