In Memory of Mary Rose Tainter
Mary Rose Tainter, age 81, of Lac Courte Oreilles, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023.
Mary Rose was born March 20, 1942, in Reserve, the daughter of Leo and Irene (Corbine) Isham.
Her and her four siblings lived in Reserve and attended school at St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission. The family moved to Manitwoc, WI where she attended St. Mary’s School. Later they moved back to the Hayward area where she finished school. On June 7, 1963, Rose was united in marriage to Ronald Tainter. Rose worked several jobs including Honey Well factory in Minneapolis, accounting at the LCO Casino and at the library at the LCO School where she recently retired. Rose was a strong Catholic and was a member of the New Post Catholic Church. Rose was an amazing aunt and was loved by everyone whom she knew. She loved her pets and family so much; her pets were like her children. She was the type of aunt that would ask you how you and your kids were and always said, “I love you” and gave you a hug. In Rose’s free time she loved gambling at the casinos and dining out in restaurants.
She is survived by her older sister Geneva Isham; nieces Roxanne Isham, Mary Jo Isham, Kathy Isham, Corrina Smet; nephew Richie Isham; many great nieces, nephews and Godchildren; and her dogs Bebe & Silver.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ron; brother Leo “Cye” Isham; sisters Joyce Meyer, Shirley Isham; nieces Carolyn Isham, Corrine “Reenie” Isham; nephews Roy Isham, Curtis Isham; and great niece Christina “Ditterz” Dennis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission in Reserve. Father David Neuschwander will officiate with music provided by Sister Felissa Zander. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 26th at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward.
Honorary casket bearers will be Johnny Boy Corbine, Louie Corbine, Marvin Corbine, Rusty Corbine, Gaiashkibos, Jordan Gokey, Thomas “Tommy” Isham, Darren Kagigebi, Jared Kagigebi and Jason Lanners.
Casket bearers will be Cory Cross, Xavier Dennis, Clayton Isham, Sammy Gonzalez, LaTrell Miller, Kevin Stevens and Pat Tainter.
