Mary Lyne Froehlich, 88, of Cumberland died, July 13, 2023, at Care and Rehab-Cumberland.

She was born August 2, 1934, in Rice Lake, WI to Leslie and Alta (Stoik) Case and was baptized at St. Joseph Church in Rice Lake.

Mary moved to Cumberland in 1950 and worked at Canning Co that summer. She graduated from Cumberland High School in 1952, following which she worked at Veys for Cream Parlor and Montgomery Wards in Rice Lake.

Mary was married at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cumberland, WI on June 27, 1953, to Laurence Froehlich who preceded her in death on May 4, 2000. They were dairy farmers until 1993. Mary then worked at Northern Oak and Crafts in Barronett until retiring in 2014.

She had and inspired great joy with her cake decorating through the successes and the wonderful flops. Mary volunteered often at church helping with countless projects.

She is survived by her five children: Diane Mercier of Mifflintown, PA, Cindy (Donald) Wohlk of Almena, Larry (Sharon) Froehlich of Cumberland, Randy Froehlich of Cumberland, and Donna (Luke) Hergert of Barronett; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen Peterson; many nieces and nephews; and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister; a brother; three sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cumberland, WI with Pastor John Miels officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Cumberland, WI. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church.
