In Memory of Marvin Caspersen

January 8, 1930 - November 30, 2020

Marvin Earl Caspersen, age 90 of Eureka Center, left this place of strife and conflict to a place of peace and tranquility on November 30, 2020 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.  Marvin was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to James and Lena (Severson) Casperson on January 8, 1930.

Marvin served in the United States Army from December 3, 1953 to November 29, 1955. In 1956 Marvin married Beverly Johnson of Winthrop, Minnesota.  He and his wife enjoyed square dancing very much.

From the North Pole to Alaska to the banks of the Panama Canal, from the waters of the Pacific to the waters of the Atlantic, from the shimmering waters of the Namekagon to the small ponds of Scrub Town, in the footsteps of the Apostle Paul, from Greece to Rome, from the words of Martin Luther where the Bible was made available to reach everyone, from the countries of the British Isles and Scandinavians, to a family reunion in north Norway he viewed the wonders of Gods creation with his wife Beverly.  Sing unto the Lord a new song.

Marvin met and served with many dedicated citizens in the community, neighborhood, school and church.  These people are the glue that binds a community together.  Serve the Lord with Gladness.  Marvin enjoyed square dancing.

Marvin leaves to continue on in this world, his wife of 64 years, Beverly, adopted children, Lisa Caspersen, Eau Claire, WI; Earl (Karla) Caspersen, Arnold, MO and their sons, Dellinger and Gabriel, sister, Donna (Hartvig) Mortensen, Luck, WI and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lena Caspersen, sister, Carol Shull and her husbands, Lowell Shull and Bill Adams, sister Gloria and her husband Paul Olson and one brother in infancy, Luverne Caspersen.

A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at the New Home Cemetery in Eureka Township.  Pallbearers will be Earl Caspersen, Dell Caspersen, Kyle Swanson, Roger Johnson, Steve Jensen and Alan Mortensen.

A Public Celebration of Life for Marvin will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin at a later date.  When the date and time have been scheduled that information will be published.

The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
