In Memory of Martina Gougé
Martina Gougé, age 87, started her journey home Thursday, March 31, 2022, at her home in Reserve, WI.
Martina Frogg was born October 31, 1934, in Hayward, WI, the daughter of James Frogg and Rachel Wade.
She grew up on the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation with her family until she moved to Chicago with her husband Tiny Gougé. When they had their son Gary Gougé, they moved back home to build a life in Reserve and to raise their son. Martina worked as an Optical Technician for the LCO Tribe. During her retirement, she worked as an Elder Aide for LCO School. Martina was involved in her community and became a respected elder among her family and friends. She enjoyed visiting her family members, sitting by the fire, traveling with the LCO Elder Association, attending pow-wows, church, and being the best grandma, sister, auntie, and friend that she could. Martina was loved among many and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her grandchildren Jonathan, Bambi, Debra & Journie; six great grandchildren & two great great grandchildren; sisters Eunice Quagon & Regina (Terry) Quaderer; brother Jim Butler; nieces, nephews & cousins; daughter-in-law Amanda Easland, Journie’s mom, lived and cared for Martina until the end.
Martina was preceded in death by her parents; son Gary Gougé; sister Dorothy Wade; brother George Butler & Russell Butler.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 4, 2022, at LCO Assembly of God Church in Signor. Pastor Debbie Wilber will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3rd and again one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
Honorary casket bearers will be James Butler, Antonio Gougé, Jonathan Gougé, Marcus Quaderer & Matthew Quaderer.
Casket bearers will be Red Coon, Christopher Gougé, Owen Place, Jaelyn Quaderer, Kalianna Quaderer & Adolfo Thayer-Vega.
