In Memory of Marlene M. Thayer
Marlene May Thayer, age 30, of Lac Courte Oreilles, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, in Duluth, MN.
Marlene was born September 28, 1993, in North Pole, AK, the cherished daughter of Mark Thayer and Charito Byrd. Marlene's life was a vibrant odyssey shaped by her love for travel, culinary delights, and embracing new adventures, alongside her deep affection for animals. Though Marlene's time on this earth was brief, her memory will forever illuminate the hearts of those who loved her. Her courage, resilience, and love legacy will continue to inspire others to live life to the fullest. Family held a special, unbreakable place in Marlene's heart. She shared a profound bond with her parents, Mark and Charito, who supported her unwaveringly. Marlene was also a beloved sister, friend, and confidante, treasured by all who knew her. Her bond with her sister Anna was particularly strong, a testament to their shared resilience and love. Now, Marlene and Anna are reunited, their spirits dancing together once more, bringing joy to the heavens.
She is survived by her parents Mark Thayer & Charito Byrd; Marcus & Sophia; brothers David Cunningham (Jennilyn) & Richard Cunningham (Donald Drake); nephews & nieces Mila, Ezekiel & Dawson; grandmother Gilda Pajalla; and many aunts, uncles & cousins of the families Thayer, DeBrot, Smith, Barber and Tainter.
Marlene was preceded in death by her sister Anna Thayer; grandparents Thomas & Myrtle Thayer and Antonio Enciso.
Tribal Funeral Rites will be held at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, April 28, 2024, at New Post Community Center. Keller Paap will officiate. Burial will be New Post Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 27th at New Post Community Center.
Honorary casket bearers were Tracey DeBrot, Amanda Kingfisher, Tory Lacapa, Jim Smith Jr., Lisa Thayer & Melissa Thayer.
Casket bearers were David Cunningham, Richard Cunningham, Josh Kingfisher, Cody Miller, Jordan Miller & Tony Thayer.
