In Memory of Marilyn H. Norton

April 7, 1956 - February 5, 2025

Marilyn Helen Norton, age 68, of Spooner passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Essentia Health - Duluth. She and her sister Carolyn were born on April 7, 1956, the first twins to be delivered in the new facility, in Spooner, WI, to David Frank and Jenella Jean (Coleman) Love.

Marilyn, or "Super Grandma" as her family lovingly called her, was truly full of joy and loved everyone she met. She was one of the few who could put her judgements aside and enjoy people just as they were.

Traveling was a passion Marilyn shared with her sisters and other family. Some of her travels came about due to her involvement of LWML, the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, and others were just for fun. In addition to belonging to LWML, she wore numerous hats at Faith Lutheran Church in Spooner, including being their token "computer nerd", always sharing her knowledge in the tech department. She loved her jobs at the Spooner Hospital so much she earned the title of longest running employee at 46 1/2 years. THEN she worked two more years at Hayward Hospital to help a special friend in their office.

For the majority of the last ten years of her life, Marilyn was an avid quilter, which consumed most of her free time.

Marilyn leaves behind her husband, of 50 years, Jeff Norton of Spooner; son, Austan (Ruth) Norton of Spooner; grandchildren, Oscar and Simon Norton; siblings, Constance (Tim) Nashton of Spooner; twin sister, Carolyn (Rick) McNitt of Spooner; Diana Love of Rice Lake, and Ellen (Dan) Cox of Spooner; brother-in-law, Kim (Dolean) Norton and sisters-in-law, Kristin Norton, Terri (Keith) Kiselburg, Sherri (Tom) Hunter; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Isaiah Norton; parents, David and Jenella Love; brother, Anthony Love (on 1/30/2025); and her parents-in-law, Ray and Elaine Norton.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday February 12, 2025 at 11 AM at Faith Lutheran Church in Spooner.

Honorary Pallbearers are Oscar Norton, Simon Norton, Zachary Plaster, Alex Nashton, Levi Lindemann, Scott Truitt, Tony Cox, and DJ Cox.

Visitation will be one hour prior at church.

The family requests that you wear no black mourning clothes, but rather something colorful to the service, as we are celebrating life.
