In Memory of Margie Hoverman
Margie Anne was born on July 7th, 1934, in Osceola, Wisconsin to Paul and Marjorie Kobs. She was the first of ten children followed by nine brothers. Margie Anne graduated from Milltown High School. For several years after school, she worked as a telephone operator in St. Paul, Minnesota, and then moved back to Wisconsin to do several different jobs until becoming a nurse’s aide at Good Sam in St. Croix Falls.
Margie Anne became a mother in 1955 when her daughter Debbie was born. On November 15, 1957, Margie Anne married Donald Hoverman in Iowa and together they would welcome three children into their family—Greg, Kim, and Brad.
In 1988 Margie hurt her back on the job and was no longer able to work, but nothing would slow her down from raising her family. For the past few years Margie struggled with dementia, but it never changed the love and devotion to the ones she held close to her heart. She talked often of never having a speeding ticket or being in an auto accident. Her own little personal claim-to-fame!
She loved music, fishing, and watching the birds flutter outdoors. She knew just how to work her magic in the kitchen, creating many yummy meals and deserts—including her famous coleslaw and frosted pumpkin bars. She could crochet, knit, and mend and sew anything anyone asked for. Even with dementia she never let it end her independence or allow it to take her dignity. She was always proud of herself and her family.
Margie Anne gained her wings on September 25, 2021, at Osceola Medical Center. She leaves behind three children, eleven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, four brothers, many nieces, nephews, family and friends, including her very special friend Edna Lowrie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Marjorie Kobs, brothers Alan, Paul Jr., LeRoy, Robert, Gary, and oldest son, Greg.
